The recent rains and flash floods in parts of Jammu region have damaged the standing crops, and the government must depute teams to assess the losses immediately. The hard toil of farmers stand ruined and they have nothing to look for, except assistance from the Government. The concerned departments must release immediate preliminary relief in terms of free rations and financial assistance in favor of the victims till a survey is conducted to ascertain the actual losses.

There are reports of cattle sheds and Kucha houses of nomads having collapsed in Poonch and Rajouri districts due to continuous rains. Agriculture land has been washed away due to flash floods at several places while landslides have damaged orchids.
