A daylong state conference (4th) of Anganwari worker/helpers was held today on June 25, 2922 at Srinagar. The participation was very thick. In her inaugural address Ms Usha Kumari President All India Federation of Anganwari worker and helpers (AIFAWAH) expressed her displeasure over the non-seriousness of the dispensation towards the genuine demands of these low-paid workers. Maimoona Mollah President All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) counted the types of services these workers render to the society besides their basic duties. They work as vaccination agents, election process workers and much more. Ms Usha Kumari impressed upon the government to implement the SC directions forthwith. She also stressed for the need to improve the basic structure of ICDS centres so as to make them start-up functional units for education as is desired in NEP:2020. The conference decided to observe July 11 as Demands Day and join Maha Padav at Delhi on July 26-29, 2022. New presidium was also elected.
